I’m disappointed

Dom-Com by Adriana Anders

November 8, 2025 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

So…I’ve enjoyed Adriana Anders’ books in the past. There’s a character inconsistency that I just couldn’t let go of. Very early in the book, Grant and Rae meet when she goes to the BDSM club in which he’s a silent partner. She’s a newbie and he ejects a pushy dominant, tells her what to expect from a good dominant, and then they engage in a short power exchange before she flees into the night. On Monday they discover that they work together – she’s the […]

“Time to wreak some old-lady havoc on these motherfuckers.”

Uncharted by Adriana Anders

Come for the story, stay for the bad ass arthritic lesbian godmother. Plot: Following immediately from the events of Whiteout, the first in this series, Leo, the team’s pilot, has been tasked with finding a man said to be holding onto another sample of the virus. The person she finds is definitely not that guy, but her best trail to him. Also her only chance of surviving the Alaska wilderness with a private army on their tail. Shenanigans ensue. Like the first in the series, Uncharted […]

“Man, this is the world’s worst workout program. The Drag Your Own Butter.”

Whiteout by Adriana Anders

Despite this book being a romance, thus guaranteeing a happy ending, it had me on the edge of my seat. Not a small feat. Plot: Angel loves to cook. After her boyfriend cheats on her and causes her restaurant to go bankrupt, she does what every sensible person might do and accepts a posting cooking for a crew of scientists in an outpost in Antarctica. Non-science types are only welcome in the summer though, because winter in Antarctica is simply beyond the capacity of anyone […]

You don’t sail a thousand ships, you pulverize them

Possession by Adriana Anders

March 10, 2023 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

I don’t know why I love marriage in trouble stories so much, but I do. Possession, a fake marriage in real trouble, is a nice twist on the trope. Possession is a book that I probably wouldn’t have read from a different author, but Anders takes all the elements that usually make me wary and deals with them very well. This is a kink heavy erotic romance with damaged man who is solely responsible for the marriage being in trouble. Really good kink is hard […]

“Even metal melts if you get it hot enough.”

Uncharted by Adriana Anders

September 18, 2021 by llamareadsbooks 1 Comment

Whiteout was one of my favorite reads of 2020, so of course I was excited to see what crazy wilderness shenanigans would happen this time. While different in several ways, this book still scratches that same itch for me. It’s some kind of luck for Leo to get a tip about the scientist her team has been searching for the same day she’s out sick with a stomach bug – and even worse luck that a hostile corporate extraction team is right behind her. And […]

“Look. I realize you’re a complex individual. But let’s just say that cute’s definitely in there.”

Uncharted by Adriana Anders

If there is an animal in a suspense book, I spend the whole book worrying. So first off, the dog is fine. Adriana Anders’ Whiteout was one of my most unexpected favorite reads of last year. The  second book in the Survival Instincts series, Uncharted, continues the overarching story of thwarting Chronos’ quest for genocide and profit. This time, pilot Leo Eddowes and her team are trying to find a scientist hiding in the mountains of Alaska before Chronos finds him. Only a half step […]
