Not bad, not good

A court of thorns and roses by Sarah Maas

January 15, 2025 by vega-table 2 Comments

The book challenge – read some romance. The other book challenge – read something banned. All I knew about A Court of Thorns and Roses is that it is a romance, highly banned, and book snobs hate it. Presumably because of TikTok and sexism. All that is good enough for me.   Feyre is basically a hunter Cinderella for her hilariously awful family. But then she accidentally kills a faerie and another faerie, Tamlin, takes her to the faerie land to be given kisses and […]

Better than Book 1

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

December 7, 2024 by Ellesfena Leave a Comment

(Since this is a sequel, there will be spoilers for the end of Book 1 in here) My review of the first book was titled “Better Than Fourth Wing,” and this one was miles better than Book 1, so I guess maybe I actually liked this one? So Feyre has conquered Amarantha, rescued Tamlin and the rest of the Fae, and is now back in the Spring Court trying to reconcile all of this good news with the very, very bad things she had to […]

Better than Fourth Wing

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

November 9, 2024 by Ellesfena 4 Comments

The story: I think this has been reviewed here a million times, but here goes: Feyre kills a wolf who’s actually a faerie in disguise, and another faerie prince type guy named Tamlin comes calling to collect his revenge. He takes her back to Faerie and then just kind of leaves her alone in his giant castle. Eventually they fall in love (I guess? I am skeptical), she learns more about what’s really happening in Faerie, and decides she has to try to save Tamlin […]

To know the darkness will always remain, but how you choose to face it…that’s the most important part.

A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

January 24, 2022 by Leedock Leave a Comment

I blame Instagram. Over the summer, several influence-y women half my age screamed at me from my phone about how great Maas’ A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) book series was. I was influenced. This is the fifth book in the Court of Thorns and Roses series, so proceed with caution if you haven’t read yet but want to. And you do want to read these if you are at all a fan of paranormal romances, sexy fairy shenanigans, and magic-y places. First, I need to confess […]

My first post of the year for a book that made me need to write a review

A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

March 10, 2021 by Aquillia 8 Comments

So, it’s March! And this is my first review! Which tells you a lot about how my reading has been going this year. I hit a major slump just after Christmas (and in fact, still haven’t finished reading the book I was really into at that time). So I picked a book that I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy, but was pretty sure I would have Thoughts on: A Court of Silver Flames, by Sarah J. Maas. I’m trying to make this one relatively spoiler […]
