I’ve never been a fan of dystopian YA fiction and I guess the opposite of that would be SA or senior adult fiction with a dystopian twist, which is what The Unit by Ninni Holmqvist would be. The premise of the story caught me a little off guard, but as a Never Let Me Go, senior citizen edition, I was pretty impressed. When Dorrit Weger moves into the Second Reserve Bank Unit as a permanent resident, she has few expectations beyond having a secure place […]
Sci-Fi retelling of the Cinderella tale
This is a retelling of the Cinderella tale which takes place in a far future on Earth in a place called “New Beijing”. Cinder is a Cyborg; a brilliant mechanic who works in the marketplace as the (apparently) sole source of income for her stepmother and sisters. Huzzah! Books, my favorite!
First off, I love getting mail. Even better is mail with books inside that I’ve ordered. However, I have to say surprise book gifts take the cake. And my birthday isn’t even here yet 🙂 Thanks Bonnie for sending me my first Terry Pratchett book. And I’ve been wanting that Amy Poehler book ever since I saw her at BookCon. She is simply delightful. Also hat tip to Katie (faintingviolet) for organizing and your holiday card.
Book Exchange Bounty!
Look at these lovelies I got in the mail from the wonderful Jeena Lim AKA Jelinas! I am going to read the crap out of these! Thank you so much, and happy holidays! Thanks again to FaintingViolet for organizing the exchange. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite traditions.

I am so, so excited to dive into these! I’ve always wanted to check out some of Richelle Meade’s other books, so thank you! This really did make my day/week/month to get these two lovelies in the mail. You rock, teresaelectro! I now have my first couple CBR7 reads and reviews set. […]
