50 Shades of Liveblogging and a Drinking Game (NSFW Language Ahoy)

March 9, 2015 by TyburnBlossom 14 Comments

Rather than attempting to review Fifty Shades of Grey, I present my live read of the book. Herein you’ll find lots of cussing, lots of shouting, and definitely not safe for work descriptions of plenty of things. And it’s very long, because it turns out I had a lot to say while I was reading. A drinking game evolved during the reading, and the whole thing has been compiled at the end, if that’s the sort of thing you’re interested in.

Finally, a Romance Hero With a Beard

March 9, 2015 by Mrs. Julien 3 Comments

A HERO WITH A BEARD! My first lumbersexual after 3 years and 300 books. I may need a moment. Penny Reid’s great Knitting in the City series continues with Beauty and the Mustache, a book that also happens to introduce a family of brothers (Cletus, Beauford, Jethro, Billy, Duane, and Roscoe) set for their own stories. They all have beards, too! Huzzah! Ashley Winston is a nurse living in Chicago and she has just come home to rural Tennessee to learn why her mother is not […]

The T-Rex and the Mouse

March 8, 2015 by Malin 2 Comments

Disclaimer! I was granted an ARC from NetGalley in return for a fair and objective review. The book will be on general release 10/03/15. Charlotte Baird is anxious and painfully shy due to some unresolved trauma involving her first, very unfortunately chosen boyfriend. When the company she works for hires a new CEO, known for his ruthless efficiency, to come clean up the mess left by corruption and mismanagement, she and pretty much everyone else is terrified they might lose their jobs. Yet Gabriel Bishop, […]

Fired UP! or It’s getting hot in here…

Hot Head by Damon Suede

March 8, 2015 by katie71483 Leave a Comment

NOTE: I RETRACT ALL GUSHING THAT TAKES PLACE IN THIS REVIEW. THE AUTHOR HAS REVEALED HIMSELF TO BE A GASLIGHTING DICK DURING THE RWA MELTDOWN OF DECEMBER 2019.   I adore the fact that Damon Suede’s Hot Head is featured on goodread.com’s list of Top 100 romances, even though it’s a m/m romance. It’s sweet, sentimental, raunchy, probably truer to life in some ways than I’d wish, and you’ll definitely want a fire extinguisher handy while reading because it’s hot-Hot-HOT. Griff and Dante are life-long friends (in fact […]

A romance with a pickpocket twist

March 8, 2015 by Beth Ellen 1 Comment

Thanks to the amazing Mrs. Julien I borrowed her copy of To Love a Thief as neither my library, nor my pre-moving library’s online catalog contained it. Which really is sad, as this one was definitely a favorite so far this year! Out of the 20 or so I’ve read this year, TLAT is definitely in the Top 5. Ladies, as always, your recommendations are just stellar. Come April, July and October, aka when I live out of hotels for a month at a time, […]

A Romance, and I can’t even care to add more to the title.

March 4, 2015 by Beth Ellen 2 Comments

Ugh. Wow. Can I write a one word review on the latest in my Pennyroyal Green adventures? Between the Devil and Ian Eversea was definitely not her best effort. This puts all of her other mediocre ones into perspective. But before I go into full rant a little background/plot first. This is obviously an Eversea story within the series, and this time it’s Ian (of What I Did for the Duke fame) and Titania, the previously mentioned Duke’s ward. And yes, she does have an absolutely […]
