Miss Alvermina Holmes, daughter of Sir Mycroft and niece to the famous Sherlock, is summoned to the British Museum in the dark of night. Bored with her scientific experiments, and trying to get something to take her mind off the fact that her mother abandoned her and her father over a year ago, Mina decides to accept the invite. When she arrives, she finds that another young woman has received the same summons. Miss Evaline Stoker, the younger sister of author and theatre manager Bram, […]

Amelia didn’t jump. This is the text message Kate receives after her daughter Amelia allegedly jumps off the school roof. This prompts Kate to look further into Amelia’s death beyond agonizing about what more she could have done as a single parent working a bazillion hours a week as a lawyer. Amelia was a fifteen-year-old star student accused of plagiarizing an English paper, which the police attribute as the motive for suicide. Radical Daffodils Review of Crazy, VA Honestly, I only picked Crazy, VA up because it was free the day I downloaded it. Much to my delight, it turned out to be the perfect weekend read: an enjoyable, engaging murder mystery centered on the relationship between a woman, her cat, and the town called Crazy.

The Unwritten, Volumes 4-7: Leviathan to The Wound

I read all four of the trade paperbacks in a row, and I hate to spoil them for anyone looking to read the series. However – I really liked them, as always. The stories are dense and complex, the art is consistently well done, and I can’t quite see how it will all end.
