We all have those books that are so uninspiring that we can’t find 250 words to say about them – not even if we have the back of book blurb to add. We didn’t love them, but we also didn’t hate them. They were books we read and now we have nothing to say.
Quick Questions with a Cannonballer: octothorp
Why ‘octothorp’ (besides the fact that it’s a super cool word)? Apparently I have a punctuation fetish I’m sublimating – ha! My husband and I have ampersand tattoos because of Y The Last Man (the whole section about ampersands being used to denote partnerships that are collaborative as opposed to typing the word “and” if each person did their own work resonated), I used to post in the early days of the mothership as ellipsis, nearly named my kid Thorn with a plan to get […]
CBR Diversions – Follow Friday Author Edition
I can’t be the only one spending more time online to entertain myself. Besides reading books and binge-watching, have you been spending a huge chunk of time scrolling on social? Some of us are working from home, some of us have lost our jobs, and even for those of us still going in to work, we aren’t socializing in person much. So who or what is getting you through this time? Do you have a feline supervisor who likes to hang out on your […]
Introducing CBR Diversions – What Books Have You Read or Are You Reading Because of CBR?
Behind the scenes a bunch of the CBR volunteers have been talking about fun things we can do to provide diversions from the stress of these very strange and weird times. Graphics maven yesknopemaybe came up with the brilliant and delightful #cbrbookgram challenge on Instagram, which wrapped up yesterday. Even if you don’t have an Instagram account, you can peruse the posts of people sharing their books. Inspired by the fun we had with the Instagram challenge, we will periodically post discussion posts, games, and […]
