I had a hard time with Stephen King’s Dark Tower II book, The Drawing of the Three. His depiction of one of the Black characters really bothered me. The Dark Tower III: The Waste Lands continued to have a little of the same problem, when the reintegrated character’s “dark side” occasionally emerges, speaking like a character out of Gone with the Wind.
