I’ve been reading Dan Savage’s Savage Love for years and years now, and when I’m in the mood for Podcasts (which I have to admit, I rarely am, I just can’t seem to get into them, it puzzles me greatly), I often listen to his Savage Lovecast. He’s generally quite open about himself, his life and his experiences, so I already knew that he was married and that they had an adopted child. My BFF Lydia recommended this audio book to me when I visited her […]
Nick Offerman is just like Ron Swanson in all the right ways.
And for reference, I’m your typical Commie-Liberal-Feminist. But, even if you’re not, you’ll probably love him anyway. (Side Note- I’m kinda weirded it out that no one posted anything since my last post from yesterday. Is it always like this towards the end?)
Reese Witherspoon is a good actor.
As an extra for the movie version of this book, I was in a scene in a post office where Strayed had been expecting a package and it wasn’t there. My off camera position to wait for the next take happened to be exactly where Witherspoon walked to when she made her exit. She seemed so angry, it was frightening to have her coming right towards me. She knows what she’s doing, that’s for sure.
Five Ways I am like Mindy Kaling (And Two Ways I am not)
I heart Mindy Kaling. I liked her on The Office, but my sister finally forced me to watch The Mindy Project a couple months ago and I was instantly hooked. Since then I’ve been watching episodes on Hulu as if they were expensive, bad-for-me treats which I must enjoy only ONE AT A TIME OR TWO, TOPS, because someday I will run out and I’ll have to wait months until I’m allowed to buy them again/the next season comes out. I also pestered my sister until she let me […]
Amy Poehler is basically perfect.
I have been slacking. I’ve been slacking big time. A large part of that is due to a lit class that required me to read 7 novels in 7 weeks and effectively burned me out on reading, period. I should probably review those, but frankly, they were pretty boring books that I don’t want to think about. Instead, I give you my palate cleanser. I love Amy Poehler. I loved her on SNL, I love her on Parks and Rec. I think she’s hilarious, smart, […]
The Guy Who Made Farrah (and Countess Others) A Star
Anyone who has ever considered a job in show business — whether in front of or behind the camera – should read Starmaker: Life as a Hollywood Publicist with Farrah, the Rat Pack and 600 More Stars Who Fired Me. Most people may not be familiar with its subject, Hollywood publicist, agent, producer Jay Bernstein, but they will undoubtedly be more than familiar with his stellar client list, which includes the biggest stars of the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s. Stars such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy […]
