I enjoyed Older’s Half-Resurrection Blues, but adored Shadowshaper. He really brought a magical alternative Brooklyn to life with this tale. I think I’m going to have to file this one away on the “admired but unloved” shelf. It was definitely an interesting read because whether you like Fates And Furies or not, you can’t deny that Groff is a great writer doing some innovative things with structure. A cozy romance with some history thrown in
This one didn’t leave much of a lasting impression, but it was a perfect read for the mood I was in. Great premise, poor follow through
I adore a well spun revenge tale. The premise for Endangered promised such a story, but unfortunately the follow through was… lacking. I’ll never doubt Rainbow Rowell again
I don’t usually like stories within stories. I really resist it when an author expects me to be as invested in the same fake literature/tv series/ movie/etc as their characters are.
