The witches deserved a better story
Is it just me or are mediocre books the hardest to review? This book was a perfectly fine way to spend a few evenings, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression. Books are the best gifts!
Many thanks to Malin for spoiling me this year. So excited to have a hardcopy of The Hating Game which I read and loved earlier this year (I’m so behind on reviews ya’ll). It’s a book I know I’ll be rereading whenever I need a pick-me-up. Fingersmith and The Princess Bride have been on my to be read list for literally ages so I’m thrilled to get my hands on those for 2017. Thanks again!

Probably the best book I’ve read all year
I knew this book would be great going in because it won both a Caldecott Honor and Printz Honor award, but I was still completely blown away. Definitely the most beautiful book I’ve read this year and maybe ever. I would hang so many of these panels up on my walls as standalone art. Can’t believe I almost skipped this one
This book really surprised me. I loved The Likeness, but detective Frank Mackey was NOT a favorite character. I really considered skipping this one and moving on to book four of the series. I’m so glad I resisted temptation because Faithful Place ended up being my favorite so far.
