Werewolves are a tad possessive

December 30, 2016 by teresaelectro 3 Comments

I enjoyed reading Mrs. Julien’s hilarious Kresley Cole book reviews during previous cannonball reads. I read Shadows Claim last year when it was a Vaginal Fantasy pick, but didn’t really get fully hooked. So when I was in The Ripped Bodice, I decided to tackle one of the first books in the series for my trip to Greece. A Hunger Like No Other follows Lachlain, a lykae (werewolf) Scottish warrior on a journey of love and revenge. The male kind of his species mate for life when first meeting said […]

A magical ice apocalypse in Dublin

December 30, 2016 by teresaelectro 1 Comment

After an epic five novels, Karen Marie Moning switches the narrator to Dani “Mega” O’Malley in Iced. The previous entries focused on MacKayla “Mac” Lane, new to all things magic and unknowingly gifted with magical powers to fight  evil & SEXY AF fairy princes who want to destroy our world. These Unseelie princes nearly do by tearing a hole between their magical dimension and ours to let in all kinds of nasty monsters. During her battles against the apocalypse, Mac befriends a 13 year old girl named Dani […]

The one where Rachel goes on an ill-advised banshee hunt

December 30, 2016 by teresaelectro 2 Comments

It has taken me three years to circle back to the first book from The Hollows series I found at the library. I unwittingly checked out and read a page from White Witch, Black Curse before realizing it was the seventh in the series! The completist that I am returned it. I finally started with book one in 2014. I’m probably the only one spacing out this series over so many years. 😉 ****Major spoilers for previous books in the series to follow**** Rachel Morgan has been through the […]

Love in a magical swamp

December 29, 2016 by teresaelectro 4 Comments

I kicked off the year with Bayou Moon from Ilona Andrews’ The Edge series. This novel follows William, an ex-military changeling werewolf loner. He was a supporting character in the first book, On the Edge. William retired to The Edge, a liminal zone between the “Broken” (our world devoid of magic) and the “Weird” (a mirror earth dimension full of magic). In this reality, werewolves are either killed at birth or forced into the military. His forest cabin solitude is interrupted when two agents from The […]

More demons, more danger in the Hollows Series

December 31, 2015 by teresaelectro Leave a Comment

I finally dove back into the Hollows series last month to see what new trouble has found Rachel Morgan. In For a Few Demons More, book five in the series, every supernatural creature is hunting for the ancient artifact from book 4, which of course, Rachel Morgan has hiding in her freezer! Two werewolf packs, Trent Kalamack her elf nemesis and eventually Piscary the vampire boss start sniffing around for this powerful object. While ducking the supernatural power struggle, Morgan is asked to help hunt a serial […]
