If this book was a rollercoaster, it would be the Wicked Twister at Cedar Point. Trust me, the comparison is impeccable.
Not since I first read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix back in 2003 have I encountered a book to so effectively emulate the experience of riding a rollercoaster. Oyyyyyyyyyyy. This book. This well-written, stylistically self-assured, engaging book. This frustrating, sorta smug, but ultimately cliched, little book. This is one of those times where things are complicated. First, the book was good, but that doesn’t mean I like it. Second, the ending ruined everything.
