M Martin's Reviews:

Would you tell on your friends?

Red Kayak by Priscilla Cummings

This is a good little crime novel for young readers. It has a fast and brisk pace, and it constantly kept my attention. I found myself invested with the main character Brady, and the struggle he faces when he learns his friends did something terrible. I do think the ending is somewhat abrupt, and could have used about 50 more pages. As it is, it was a enjoyable and quick little story.

This book was a very sweet and charming story about a boy named Bradley who is struggling in school. He gets bad grades, has no friends, and his hated by the other students for his bullying behavior.  Along the way Bradley learns to grow as a person with the help of a new school counselor, Carla, and few other characters. I thought the the book had some great messages about kindness and trying your best. I also felt like the children characters in the book […]
