I love to read. I'm usually reading at least 3 books at a time. They're not all good... some are really bad. I have trouble not finishing books though. Now CBR has doubled down on that trouble, because I want to get credit for reading the bad ones too!

B I G POPPA (I mean Notorious RBG)

March 11, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

I’ve already recommended this book to 2 people, and that was when I was only halfway done.  I read this book at lunch at work, and everyone who asked what I was reading got a recommendation.  I also cried a few times.  RBG made me feel a little inadequate in my life choices, but that doesn’t make me like her less! RBG is an exceptional woman.  After all, she’s the lady who answered “9” when she was asked how many women Supreme Court justices would […]

Book 1 of a series I accidentally started at book 3

February 27, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

Like the title says – I accidentally started this series at book 3.  Mostly because I didn’t know it was a series.  So, once I figured it out, I thought I should start from the beginning.  I really liked this book.  I wasn’t surprised, since I really liked book 3 of the series.  The actual main character (Anna) is the same, and some of the peripheral characters are too, but it’s a very different story. Anna starts out in the lower ranks of of the […]

Are aliens trying to kill us?

February 27, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

So I finally finished this book last night. I actually quit halfway through, & this Cannonball is the only reason I picked it back up again to finish! I wanted to get credit for all of the reading I did ? Anyway, that’s not a good sign, right? I really liked this book at the beginning. It had an interesting premise, & the potential for an apocalypse, which is usually my jam.  It started out really cool.  There were a few different characters, an they […]

I love stories told from multiple perspectives… These all happen to be girls!

February 21, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

I got this book from the library, and I had to wait for like 15 people to read it and bring it back before I could get it.  I totally understand now.  I COULD NOT put this book down!  I read it at lunch time while I was at work.  Like to the point where I probably could’ve gotten fired because I couldn’t stop reading and get back to work. Rachel rides the train everyday to work.  Well, kinda to work (just read the book […]

Gold heist or murder mystery?

February 21, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

This was another Kindle First, so I didn’t pay for it, which is great.  Abandon is a town way way up in the mountains in Colorado.  It was a mining town that eventually went bust.  The story is split between 1893 and 2009.  It’s told from a few different people’s perspectives.  The 1893 people tell the story of Abandon before it was abandoned (haha, get it?).  The 2009 people are climbing up the mountain to see the old town and maybe try to figure out […]

When the CIA is trying to kill you, you try to kill them back!

February 21, 2016 by kfishgirl 1 Comment

I love spy and conspiracy thrillers, so this was right up my alley.  Plus, it was a Kindle First, so it was free! I can’t remember the main character’s name.  Nevermind, I just looked it up, it’s Dan.  It starts out with him finding a guy that he’s supposed to recover for his spy job.  I think the job was for the CIA, but he doesn’t actually work for the CIA.  I guess you could call him an independent contractor.  He actually feels sad once he […]
