I love to read. I'm usually reading at least 3 books at a time. They're not all good... some are really bad. I have trouble not finishing books though. Now CBR has doubled down on that trouble, because I want to get credit for reading the bad ones too!

kfishgirl's Reviews:

This story is as original as I’ve ever read, and totally engrossing

May 16, 2016 by kfishgirl 2 Comments

This was a Kindle first for May, and most of the “firsts” are hit or miss. Some of them are fantastic, and I find a new author to follow. Some of them are terrible and I can’t wait to be done with them. Thankfully this book fell into the first category. I absolutely loved it. It’s been a while since I’ve read a book where I could call the story mostly original. The only unoriginal part of this story is that there’s a bad guy […]

The final Parasitology book

May 16, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

Ok so this is the final book in the Parasitology book. Everything is all sorted out. At this point, Sal has been a semi-prisoner at home and at SymboGen, an actual prisoner at USAMRIID, an escapee from USAMRIID, then a prisoner of Sherman’s, an escapee from Sherman’s, and finally a willing returnee to both USAMRIID and Sherman’s. At this point, the “sleepwalkers” or the “throwbacks” are fairly under control. Both USAMRIID and Sherman have been collecting them for various reasons. The government is trying to […]

I actually went to bed early tonight, so I could lay in bed and finish this book!

May 7, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

I unabashedly loved this book. I borrowed it from the library as an ebook. I couldnt wait to climb into bed each night and read it! I thought that the characters were all well written and realistic. The two time periods were also very different and well explained. I’m not sure how to write a review of this book without being spoilery, so here’s your warning: SPOILERS AHEAD!! Kivrin is one of the main characters in this story. She’s an historian, and in the future […]

The Naked Eye – I’d like to poke it

May 2, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

Dr. Kendra something or other is a formerly blind music therapist. Since getting her sight back, she assists various police with crime investigations. Sounds super interesting, right? Well, this mother and son writing team manages to wring out all the interest and suspense. It’s like a bad sitcom, whenever anyone says that something isn’t going to happen, it happens immediately. For example: if someone says, “maybe he’s not home”, ‘he’ would appear in the middle of that sentence. As for Kendra, she exudes no sex […]

The first book in a new series by Marcia Clark. Yeah, that Marcia Clark :)

April 23, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

I didn’t really like Ms. Marcia’s writing style for the first part of this book. It was a little too conversational for me. The main character (Sam)’s best friend / assistant is named Michelle, but she calls her Michy. Her car is named Beulah. It just seemed like someone was trying too hard to make “fetch” happen. About two thirds of the way through though, I realized that it totally fit the main character (Sam). The more I got to know her, the more I […]

Now that Sal knows the truth… J/K there is so much more to learn!

April 20, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

This is book 2 of the Parasitology trilogy. Apparently it was supposed to be a duology, but Ms. Grant had a lot more to say! Symbiont is a bit different than Parasite (book 1) was. Sal knows who she is, but she’s still trying to figure a lot of details out. She knows she can trust her boyfriend & her dogs, & everybody else she’s (rightfully) wary about. There are a LOT LOT LOT of “sleepwalkers” in this book. I was trying to explain […]
