I love to read. I'm usually reading at least 3 books at a time. They're not all good... some are really bad. I have trouble not finishing books though. Now CBR has doubled down on that trouble, because I want to get credit for reading the bad ones too!

More Omega Plague, but people are monsters too

July 3, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

This is book 3 of 4. It focuses on a small number of the group looking for Angie’s husband and daughter. They head back to Chico, CA in the helicopter with Vlad at the wheel. Do helicopters have wheels? I don’t think so. Anyway, they go back to Angie’s parent’s ranch, and find it ransacked. Everyone except her dad is gone, and her dad is upside down crucified, and a zombie. Not a great start to their adventure. At this point, it’s just Vlad, Angie, […]

Sad, but very interesting

July 3, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

So we start out in the dark of a basement. There’s a little boy of 10, and he’s chasing the only crack of sunlight he can see. All he knows is the darkness. He has a sister who’s pregnant (we don’t know who the father of the baby is), a brother (he’s not quite right), a father (he seems a lot angrier than he needs to be), a mother (she’s fine), and a blind grandmother. Everyone acts super weird, and there’s no way out from […]

Another plague book… I might be in a slump

June 2, 2016 by kfishgirl 2 Comments

This is my half Cannonball book! I just realized that ?. Twenty-six is as far as I got last year, so hurray for me! Anyway, onward to the book. So i guess my title is a bit misleading. It’s not really a plague book, so much as a bio-terrorism story. It starts out with some scary Spanish flu stuff. They call it the Spanish lady. A Korean village is struck with the Spanish flu somehow, and in the middle of the night, the government decimates […]

A new zombie plague series for me! AND Zombie ship creepshow

May 31, 2016 by kfishgirl 1 Comment

I got these two audiobooks from the library. They’re book 1 and 2 of a 4 book series. I listened to the first one (Omega Days) on the 12 hour drive to SC for vacation. I listened to the second one (Ship of the Dead) on the drive back from vacation. So… it’s a little hard for me to remember what specifics happened in each book, so I’m reviewing them together! So this zombie plague is more of an out of control virus thing, and […]

Ebola mixed with something much worse!

May 24, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

This is book 1 of a 5 book series. I will totally be continuing this series! We start out with a team of soldiers in Vietnam who were part of a secret bioweapen project (not that they knew they were a part of it). They take this experimental pill and basically go nuts. They turn into violent killing machines. It’s such a huge failure, they scrap the “super soldier” program. Thirty years later, an elite army team embarks on a mission that sounds shady. A […]

Random library audiobook pick – Norwegian murder mystery (totally my jam)

May 24, 2016 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

So the cover of this audiobook is just the number 1222. Not terribly exciting. Then I flipped the box over & my eye caught a few words: Norwegian, murder, train derailment… I was totally in! We start off with a woman in a wheelchair on a train. It’s not a spoiler if I tell you who she is (Hanna Wilhelmsen – this is book 8 in her series), & that the train crashes almost immediately (duh, it’s on the box). Hanna is the main character, […]
