So I finally achieved it! My first Cannonball 😆. I’m proud of myself. I know people have done doubles, triples, and even quadruple Cannonballs, but right now, 52 books is good for me. I’m off from work this whole week, so I anticipated finishing earlier, and possibly even going over 52. I thoroughly underestimated my laziness though, so I’m getting this one in right under the wire. I’ve always been a great procrastinator though. My motto is “why do today something you can put off […]
I can’t stop reading this book!
I’ve got my last 2 books picked out. They’ll be #51 and #52 for my first ever full Cannonball. I made it halfway last year, and unless I’m attacked by an acid shooting squid and I go blind in the next two weeks, I’ll hit my first full Cannonball. I’m really excited, because it feels like a cool accomplishment. Anyway, here are my last two books, lines up on my counter, waiting to be conquered: I’m finishing with The BFG, because my 6 year old […]
Round 2 of me reading book 2
Ok, here goes round 2 of me reading book 2. I did finish it this time! It wasn’t that long, so I’m not sure what exciting thing was happening in my life 5 years ago that I couldn’t finish it. I guess I just wasn’t reading books to raise money for cancer back then. Silly me! So again, there are some editing mistakes, and the writing is a little clunky. I looked this book up on Goodreads, and man do people have things to say […]
Book 1 of the trilogy that I read book 3 of
OK, so Amazon doesn’t seem to have just book 1 of this trilogy as an option, so my link above is to the whole trilogy. As I said in my Book 3 review, I already read book 1 a while ago, and then got stalled on book 2, and never made it to book 3. So… I just read book 1 again. I remember liking it, and I liked it again. You have to take some things into consideration to enjoy the book though. I […]
Book 3 of a trilogy that I don’t think I finished book 2 of?
So for some reason, I’m really into all Alice in Wonderland stories. Alice in Deadland also has zombies (a virus causes “The Rising”), so for me that’s a win-win. I think I downloaded this Kindle book like five years ago. I read all of book 1, and loved it. I’m pretty sure I’m going to read it again to finish out my Cannonball this year. The problem was book 2. I think it stalled me, so I never got to book 3 (this one). Conveniently, […]
Back on a true crime kick
This book is very interesting. OK, that sentence feels like a 4th grade book report. Really though , it’s interesting. There are so many details, and such well researched facts. You can tell that the authors got a little obsessed with the Monster. Their obsession cataloged thirty years worth of evidence, nearly half a dozen suspects (almost all were tried, convicted, and then acquitted), fourteen to sixteen murders, and two countries. Douglas Preston was an American author trying to write a crime novel. He met […]
