I love to read. I'm usually reading at least 3 books at a time. They're not all good... some are really bad. I have trouble not finishing books though. Now CBR has doubled down on that trouble, because I want to get credit for reading the bad ones too!

Book 2 of the Casey Duncan / Rockton stories. Did I start at book 1? Silly question!!

December 19, 2017 by kfishgirl 1 Comment

Just in case I didn’t get around to mentioning it – as you can see by the picture I attached, this is an audiobook!  This is one of those audiobooks where I don’t want to get out of the car when I get home, because I want to keep listening.  I’m glad my car has this “anti-asphyxiation” feature (I named it that just now) where you can turn the car off (say if you’re sitting in your garage), but the radio / CD player keeps […]

She survived a gruesome attack, but now she’s in danger again

December 7, 2017 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

I liked this book a lot.  At the beginning.  And in the middle.  I liked it less by the end.  It was a quick read, which I always like.  I have a hard time putting books down and going to sleep sometimes (I usually read the most right before bed).  This was one of those books.  I’ll turn the “show time left in book” counter on my Kindle when I feel like I’m near the end of a book.  If it’s under 45 minutes, I’ll […]

Sisters torn apart by a horrible event

November 14, 2017 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

I think I found this book searching through my library’s Overdrive app.  It’s an app where you can download ebooks or audiobooks to borrow, and then read them on your Kindle or phone, or listen to them on your phone.  It’s a great app.  I guess I found this book a while ago, because I had a hold on it, and it all of a sudden became available and I downloaded it to my Kindle. This was one of those books where I had to […]

If IKEA was built on the site of an abandoned super scary prison

November 6, 2017 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

So in my profile writeup, I say that I have a hard time not finishing books.  I tried really hard to finish this book.  At first the issue was that the story was a little dark and creepy, which I love.  However, I read my Kindle books at night, and dark and creepy doesn’t really connect well with me sleeping!  This made it a little more difficult, because I had to read during lunch at work, or at a time during daylight.  I kept trying […]

Book 2 of the Walt Fleming series

November 6, 2017 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

This is the second book in the Walt Fleming series.  I started the series by reading book 3, then realized it was a series and read book 1, then this one.  There’s a book 4 too, so I’ll probably read that next!  3, 1, 2, 4, totally a great way to read a series of books. I like the character of Walt Fleming.  He’s a sheriff who has some personal issues (going through a divorce, single dad, doesn’t know how to interact with people sometimes, […]

Don’t call it a Cannonball (but it is)

November 6, 2017 by kfishgirl 4 Comments

So this is my 2nd full Cannonball.  I did a half in CBR 7, and finished my review for my 52nd book for CBR8 on New Year’s Eve.  I’m not sure what happened this year, but I’m super early with my 52nd book! Anyway, my final book last year was suggested by my niece, and it was a meaningful book (The BFG), so I wanted my Cannonball book to be a meaningful one this year.  I was in the middle of a few books, and […]
