I love to read. I'm usually reading at least 3 books at a time. They're not all good... some are really bad. I have trouble not finishing books though. Now CBR has doubled down on that trouble, because I want to get credit for reading the bad ones too!

Polish prosecutor Teodor solves murders and maybe also murders people?

January 25, 2018 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

Hey guys, guess what?  This is THE FINAL BOOK IN A SERIES! “Why kfishgirl, that’s so unlike you to start a series in the middle or the end” you might say. You would never say that, because it’s my favorite!  I think at least half of my reviews are on books that are in the middle of series. If anyone was (obsessively) following my reviews as I went, they’d think there was something wrong with me.  What kind of person can’t figure out that a […]

How Casey got to Rockton, and other stories

January 25, 2018 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

This is the beginning of the Rockton series.  We get to see Casey and Diana (Casey’s BFF) in the “real” world prior to their entry to Rockton.  We also get to see how Casey and Dalton’s love affair started.  So I believe I talked about how Casey got into Rockton a little bit in my review for book two.  If not, sorry, semi-spoilers!  I liked knowing the full backstory about Casey and Blaine, and who Casey left behind when she fled to Rockton.  I also […]

A pretty good kidnapping / underground sex club / family drama murder mystery

January 22, 2018 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

So this is book two of a series I started at book three.  I finished books three and one in CBR9, so I might as well start out CBR10 with the middle of a series!  That’s just how I roll… I continued on with this series because I like the main characters.  I probably said that in my reviews for the other two books too, but it’s true.  They’re smart, intuitive, human cops.  They make mistakes sometimes, but they’re usually right when they trust their […]

What would you do if you knew your mother was a murderer? Get all murdery?

December 31, 2017 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

Ok so this was book one in a series that I of course started at book three! I liked the characters from boom three, so I decided to start the series from the beginning. So far, I think there are three or four books. Our intrepid British detectives are faced with a gruesome murder that looks a lot like one committed a few decades ago. Then a man comes forward claiming to have committed the murder, and he also believes he’s the son of […]

Thanks so much Teresa Electro, and sorry I’m lazy Amanda from CA!

December 20, 2017 by kfishgirl 1 Comment

So this is my first book exchange.  The lovely Teresa Electro got me in the exchange.  She sent me a box with three wrapped (!) books inside, plus a bookmark.  She even sent a handwritten card!  She either read through my Goodreads “to read” pile, or looked through my CBR reviews, because she sent me books I ABSOLUTELY want to read.  I’m so excited about reading these books!  I was so excited when I opened the box that I started taking pictures of the books […]

I did it again – started a series at Book 3!!!

December 19, 2017 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

So if you read my review that I just posted (#58 – somehow I didn’t catch that this one was #57, leave me alone, it’s almost Christmas), you’ll know that I have a tendency to start series at number two or number three.  I don’t know why, I guess books just catch my eye, and I don’t know they’re series until it’s too late.  This one is book three in the DI Jackman and DS Evans series.  I found out this was a series when […]
