I love to read. I'm usually reading at least 3 books at a time. They're not all good... some are really bad. I have trouble not finishing books though. Now CBR has doubled down on that trouble, because I want to get credit for reading the bad ones too!

All he wants is an innocent client…

I think I found this book in the Kindle Unlimited library randomly one day.  It looked good, so I downloaded it.  Who knows when that was.  Anyway, I finished it, and I liked it.  I’m already reading the second book in the series.  I ACTUALLY STARTED THIS SERIES ON THE FIRST BOOK!  That is truly an accomplishment for me.  Also, it looks like the entire series so far is on Kindle Unlimited.  This brings me joy. Onto the story!  Joe Dillard has been a defense […]

I somehow never read this as a kid!

February 14, 2018 by kfishgirl 1 Comment

With all the excitement surrounding the new movie coming out, I wanted to read A Wrinkle in Time again.  I say again, because I was nearly convinced I read it as a child.  Somehow, I did not!  I’m not sure how that happened, because this is right up my alley.  I listened to the audiobook in the car, and it went so quickly!  I loved it by the way.  I already put holds on the rest of the books in the Time Quintet, so look […]

Her real mom was probably a hippie

February 14, 2018 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

Let me just start out by saying that I liked this book.  It wasn’t as murdery as the books I usually read, but I still liked it!  I think it was one my Kindle Singles from who knows when.  I usually just download them and forget that I got them, so it was probably last year some time!  Anyway, let’s get on with the review… The main character (Hannah) is heading back home to help take care of her mom who has Alzheimer’s.  She’s having […]

They glowed, but they also died

February 4, 2018 by kfishgirl 1 Comment

I loved the way this book was written.  Sometimes I have a hard time with non-fiction books, because they’re not very exciting.  Don’t get me wrong – I love facts, and I understand that certain things need to be built up to and earned before they make sense.  I just find some non-fiction dry.  This was not dry.  It probably helped that it was told through the eyes of the actual “Radium Girls”. I just read the author’s final words, and she was actually struck […]

I really liked this book

February 1, 2018 by kfishgirl 2 Comments

I’m aligning this book right, because I always align left, and today I’m a rebel! I listened to this book, which is one of my favorite ways to “read” a book.  I can read an audiobook while I’m driving, or at work, or laying in bed with my eyes closed.  It’s pretty rad.  Also, the Overdrive app allows you to adjust the speed, so I had this one playing at 1.2 speed without even realizing it.  I finished it quickly! So I really enjoyed this […]

I’m pretty sure I hate this book

January 28, 2018 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

So I was right when I made the title of this post. I definitely hated this book.  It promise to be single white female on steroids. Sounds exciting right? What I got was nine and a half hours of nothing happening between people, no single white female anything, and characters that I really had a hard time rooting for. I would’ve given it 1 star, but the last half hour was pretty good. Why oh why did I have to slog through the other […]
