I love to read. I'm usually reading at least 3 books at a time. They're not all good... some are really bad. I have trouble not finishing books though. Now CBR has doubled down on that trouble, because I want to get credit for reading the bad ones too!

I’m still hoping he hears that cell door slamming behind him, and I’m hoping she somehow does too…

cbr10bingo…Cannonballer Says I remember hearing or reading something about this book back in April of this year, because that’s when aggregate DNA from family tree / ancestry sites matched the killer’s DNA to an actual person.  I’ve always been intrigued by serial killers, and I’ve been reading true crime books since high school.  That’s really what drew me in, Michelle partially wrote this book, then passed away, then her husband and another author finished it, it was released, and then through a totally different process, […]

Somebody wanted to kill the whole LAPD bomb squad

November 9, 2018 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

cbr10bingo… Brain Candy Ok so this book is about a bomb maker who’s planting bombs throughout Los Angeles in the hopes of killing bomb squad technicians.  How is this brain candy you ask?  Well, to me building a bomb, and/or diffusing a bomb is escapism.  I will never do either in my life, and hopefully never even see one, so it doesn’t get more escapy than that! I read the audiobook version of this book.  At first, I almost laughed out loud at the guy’s […]

All Dogs Go to Heaven

November 7, 2018 by kfishgirl 2 Comments

cbr10bingo… Two heads are better than one Even though it’s called two heads are better than one, I went with three heads.  I enlisted the help of my two nieces.  Olivia is eight and Nora is six.  They’re awesome, and they love dogs, and they love reading. This review is both happy and sad.  We read this book because I lost my little guy Ernie this spring.  It was the hardest thing I’ve had to go through in a long long time. He was a […]

Who is actually in harm’s way here?

October 31, 2018 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

This is the fourth book in a series I started at number three.  I did go back and read one and two after three though!  And then on to four.  I like this character – Sheriff Walt Fleming, and the supporting characters – Brandon (the sheriff’s right hand man who is dating his ex wife), Fiona (the crime scene reporter who Walt is in love with), and Beatrice (the lovable dog).  You know I’m a sucker for a dog, and she’s a good one!  She’s […]

I highlighted the crap out of this book

October 30, 2018 by kfishgirl 4 Comments

cbr10bingo… Delicious! So the subtitle of this book is “true love in and out of the kitchen”, and it applies to both self love and love of someone else.  This is the author, Hannah Howard’s true story about her life of eating and eating disorder.  From the very start of this book, I could relate to Hannah.  Thankfully (for me), she was way more messed up than I ever was, but she might be further along in her recovery journey than I am too.  Thankfully […]

Whoah, this girl is messed up – BINGO

October 23, 2018 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

cbr10bingo… Cover Art THIS IS MY FIRST BINGO!  (I plan on having more, but we’ll see)  I chose this book for “cover art”, because it’s obviously a cool / disturbing cover. We start out the story with a British detective (or inspector, or whatever rank he was at the time) talking to a family about how the pedophile who sexually abused their six year old daughter won’t be brought to justice.  It’s devastating to both the family and the detective, because he’s a bad dude […]
