I love to read. I'm usually reading at least 3 books at a time. They're not all good... some are really bad. I have trouble not finishing books though. Now CBR has doubled down on that trouble, because I want to get credit for reading the bad ones too!

kfishgirl's Reviews:

The Never Tell Collection

The Ghost Writer by Loreth Anne White

The Other Side of the Road by Andrea Bartz

Scorpions by Rachel Howzell Hall

Everywhere You Look by Liv Constantine

The Bad Friend by Caroline Kepnes

Jackrabbit Skin by Ivy Pochoda

OK this whole Amazon Kindle and Audible collection is called “Never Tell”. It’s supposed to be about secrets, lies, and mind games. Sounds intriguing, right? Well some of these six stories were really good – like five stars good. And some of them were “but why?” mediocre. Like “I guess this story had to be told, but why?” I’ll rank them in order from five stars to “but why” (according to me of course). Grace Logan, a successful ghostwriter is lured in by a new […]

Climate change is bad

No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference by Greta Thunberg

April 30, 2024 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

I do not have this physical book or audiobook, so thank you to whoever this kind hand is! It wouldn’t let me upload the cover from Goodreads for some reason, so here we are! OK so I read this as a suggestion from some website or another because of Earth Day. It was like “climate change books to read” or something benign like that. I was like “oh great, I’d love to have some updated suggestions on how to combat climate change.”   Boy was […]

I stopped reading the Dune books for a reason, who let me start again???

(Dune #4) God Emperor of Dune by Frank Herbert

April 12, 2024 by kfishgirl 1 Comment

Man did I review these books in a whack order. I think I’ve read about seven books since this one, but it’s somehow my latest review. Well, whatever it takes to get them all written! Like I said in the title, I stopped reading the Dune Chronicles books maybe last year. I loved Dune, I liked Dune Messiah, and I tolerated Children of Dune. God Emperor of Dune was a slog. If this wasn’t an audiobook, I think I would have given up and not […]

A heartbreaking but also heartwarming story

The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer

April 12, 2024 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

This book was recommended by a friend. I don’t normally read books about war, because I usually can’t get into them. And the ones that aren’t super detailed and technical (that I can’t get into) are usually just relentlessly sad, and that’s not my jam either! This book was none of that. Of course it was sad, but it was so incredibly filled with hope, and family, and people relentlessly trying to do the right thing that it made it all worth it. This book […]

After falling in love with Alan Ritchson in the Amazon Prime series Reacher, I decided to start reading the books!

(Jack Reacher #2) Die Trying by Lee Child

(Jack Reacher #3) Tripwire by Lee Child

April 11, 2024 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

I watched season 1 of Reacher on Amazon and fell in love with the character. I decided that since the first season was based on the first book (The Killing Floor), which I swear I randomly have a paperback copy of on one of my many bookshelves, but never read, that I could start at book two. Reacher gets randomly and accidentally abducted with another woman while he was trying to help her with her drycleaning and walking cane. If you saw season 1 or […]
