Book Exchange Delayed Love and Appreciation

January 2, 2025 by KatSings Leave a Comment

Man, not only did I not manage to review even ONE of the 43 books I read last year, I also didn’t even manage to get my Book Exchange Gratitude done during the regular Cannonball Cyle. Jeez. The last month has been…a lot. I dunno. Anyway. Kicking off the new CBR with gratitude and apologies. A HUGE thank you to my wonderful CBR Book Exhange Elf for this bounty. I’m sorry I received this on December 9th and didn’t post it till now. I’m truly […]

Book Exchange Love

December 17, 2023 by KatSings Leave a Comment

A huge thank you to Bibliophile for my Book Exchange gifts! I’ve been remiss in posting and actually already managed to finish reading Legends and Lattes (and loved it!). Happy reading to all, and to all a good night!

The Only Self Help Book I’ve Ever Recommended

how to keep house while drowning by kc davis

July 5, 2023 by KatSings 5 Comments

Hello and welcome back to me! I haven’t reviewed a book since March of 2021, so you know this book was really something if it finally got me back on here and posting. It isn’t enough to simply recommend to my IRL friends, I need to share the joy of it over CBR, too. I also bought a physical copy of my own to access whenever I need it. A little understanding of me – I hate self help books. I’m thrilled they help […]

New Year, New Me – Book 1!

Honest Illusions by Nora Roberts

March 4, 2021 by KatSings 5 Comments

Well, I’m back! I read 45 books last year and reviewed not a single one. It’s a shame, too – I read some really great stuff last year. Oh well, no sense harping on the past. Rather, let’s move ahead! Honest Illusions is another Nora Roberts book. If you’ve read a lot of my reviews, you know I read her fairly frequently. This is a stand alone, recommended to me (and purchased for me) by a friend. This romance focuses on the family Nouvelle, a […]

Merry Bookmas!

December 12, 2019 by KatSings Leave a Comment

A HUGE thank you to Caitlin for my incredible Book Exchange gifts! These books are such a good representation of me in this moment. The interactive Jenny Lawson book, the next Amanda Lovelace collection (my favorite contemporary poet) and one of Carrie Fisher’s incredible books – just in time for the final Skywalker Saga Star Wars film! I can’t wait to get reading on all of these. Happy holidays, y’all!

Not Quite “Wonder”ful

A Blade So Black by L.L. McKinney

October 29, 2019 by KatSings Leave a Comment

Bingo Update: This is for Not My Wheelhouse. I love fantasy, but I tend to skip Urban Fantasy. I read this specifically to challenge that about myself. Bonus Note: I won a free copy of this from a contest on GoodReads, courtesy of Fierce Reads. A quick summary with no spoilers. A Blade So Black is a contemporary reimagining of the Alice in Wonderland story. Sort of. Set in present day Atlanta, our heroine is Alice, this time portrayed by a badass black teen with […]
