Most people probably had to read this in high school (we read 1984, so maybe they have to limit the bleak dystopian novels they force on developing emotional minds…), but this one slipped through the cracks for me. Part of me is glad, because I got to experience this amazing story as an adult, and not as a bratty teen who wouldn’t have appreciated it as much! Read it in one day. A Must Read. 5/5
First book I’ve read that isn’t as good as the TV Show.
As a big Justified fan, and an even bigger reader, I was hopeful when I bought “Raylan” by the late Elmore Leonard. The wit is there, but I really disliked his writing style. Also, it seemed like 3 short stories were kind of combined to make a full length novel. This being the first Leonard book I’ve read, I’m not sure if all his books are written like this or not. Still planning on reading “Rum Punch” at some point because of “Jackie Brown,” however! […]
