This is the third book in the Peter Grant/Rivers of London series, and so far my favorite. This is definitely a series you want to read in order. Each book has added on to the story and the Big Bad that is being built up flows through the books. Bland and annoying
This book is incredibly bland. As far as I’m aware, this is Bowen’s first novel, and she has greatly improved over time. The writing isn’t bad here, it’s just lacking in much depth. Willow Reade lives in Vermont because she followed a deadbeat boyfriend there and is now underwater on her mortgage and can’t get out. Mediocre Sports Romance
This book is not a ‘good’ book, but it’s one I enjoyed. It’s biggest downfall is lack of editing. It runs nearly 700 pages and she repeatedly misuses the word ‘passed’ for ‘past’. Great action packed historical fiction with a dash of romance
This book just really did it for me. It is billed as a historical M/M romance, which I suppose it is, but if you’re looking for a proper ‘romance novel’, this is not it.
