Many moons ago I took part in Cannonball Read II, under the name Teabelly. A lot has changed since then, and I now have five year old twin girls. I'm not getting as much reading done, but I'm hoping to make a half Cannonball at least.

“If anyone reads this when I have passed to the big bad beyond I shall be posthumorously embarrassed. I shall spend my entire afterlife blushing”

September 30, 2018 by Carriejay 2 Comments

Bingo Square: Birthday At around the time she began filming Star Wars: The Force Awakens (I believe), Carrie Fisher rediscovered journals from when she was 19 and filming the original film. She published excerpts from these diaries here, along with other insights about the bizarreness of fame and what it means to be associated with such a beloved character for so long. She also reveals an affair she had with Harrison Ford during said original film. It pains me to say I didn’t really enjoy […]

“What are you, Jackson, the last good man standing?”

September 27, 2018 by Carriejay 1 Comment

Bingo Square: And So It Begins Case Histories is the first in Atkinson’s Jackson Brodie series. He’s a former police inspector turned private eye (with a stint in the army to boot) and there are three main cases he’s involved in within this book. Case 1: The disappearance, over thirty years before, of a three year old girl from her back garden. Case 2: The seemingly random killing of a solicitor’s daughter. Case 3: The murder of a husband by his wife with an axe. […]

Some Food I Might Want to Eat

September 20, 2018 by Carriejay 4 Comments

Bingo Square: Delicious! I’m searching for the perfect recipe book. One that is filled with Carrie-friendly, quick, no fuss food that tastes great. I have seen a bunch of reviews for Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings and wondered, is this it?? I’m aware that I’m asking a lot of these books. I basically want them tailored to me, which wouldn’t bring in the big bucks I’m sure. But I’m tired of getting cookbooks and paging through to find one or two recipes I like or would even […]
