I like books, but my eyes are bigger than my stomach. Disclaimer: I do not actually eat books.

Caitycat's Reviews:

“…Mom says if you don’t come down for dinner, the world will end…” “Is it that kind of book?” I whisper…

Literally is the story of a girl named Annabelle who finds out that she is a character in a book being written by an author named Lucy Keating (Who is the author of Literally, which makes the book Annabelle’s story). Annabelle is given a perfect love interest named Will, but she constantly finds herself drawn towards her brother’s best friend, Elliot. Eventually, AB and Will visit Lucy Keating and demand that she stop writing about them. They think it will help, but then they start […]

“And Benny might have been clueless about a lot of things, but about one thing he was absolutely right: Your only hope was to Be There…”

This was a weird mystery, but not in the way I like my weird. The book is about a pair of mismatched teen detectives, Benny and Virginia, who try to find the truth when a popular cheerleader jumps off a bridge during a football game. It’s so hard to talk about this book. There were moments where I liked it, then some weird thing would happen and it just put me off it. It’s like a nice cookie with raisins sprinkled throughout. Except, here the […]

“You get to want whatever you want…And you know what? Love is worth wanting…”

Albertalli’s follow-up to Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda was just as good as the first book. The Upside of Unrequited focuses on Molly, cousin of Abby from the first book, as she deals with crushes and feelings of distance from her twin sister Cassie as Cassie starts her first real relationship. Molly decides that she needs to put herself out there in order to turn a crush into a boyfriend. Cassie pushes her towards hipster Will, but Molly can’t stop thinking about her co-worker, […]

“People really are like houses with vast rooms and tiny windows. And maybe it’s a good thing, the way we never stop surprising each other…”

I recently read Albertalli’s The Upside of Unrequited, and I realized that I have never posted a review of her previous book, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. Anyways, it’s super awesome and I feel bad that I put off reviewing it for so long. You can read my full, somewhat brief review here, and I am going to go back and remove the hyphens from the word “Homo Sapiens” because I just realized that they aren’t necessary.

My First Hate Post

April 27, 2017 by Caitycat 2 Comments

Save Ugh, this book was gross. It’s just so mean and hateful, like a rabid squirrel. The outside may seem cheerful and harmless, but get to know it and it’ll bite you. It’s the story of a girl named Anna who is fat. Being fat is the worst thing ever, obviously. After her parents divorce, Anna moves away from her home in Ohio to New York. She gets a job with a caterer, who she refers to as MFG (My Fairy Godmother), who helps her […]

Final check on the Rainbow Rowell list

March 31, 2017 by Caitycat Leave a Comment

I decided to finally read the only Rainbow Rowell book that I haven’t read yet. It was pretty great, but Rainbow Rowell always is. You can read my full review here.
