“Rachelle wanted to sew the world back to safety, if she must use her own bones for needles…”

Crimson Bound is the second of Rosamund Hodge’s fairy tale inspired novels, though they aren’t sequels. This one is very loosely based on Red Riding Hood. Rachelle was the innocent young girl in the forest. The Big Bad Wolf is a creature called a forestborn. He charms her into letting down her cloak, a cloak with defensive charms sewn into it. The creature then marks her. Once marked, you must kill someone within three days or you die. After you kill someone, you become a […]

“Take it from one whose role has been, for years, The Girl I Knew Really Well Who Tragically Died One Day…”

Aza Ray is sick, so sick that they named her disease after her. The problem is that her body doesn’t breathe in air properly. Aza isn’t one of those saintly sick kids, though. She’s angry and snarky and I just love her. She spends all her time with her childhood BFF Jason, and they are adorable, from alligator suits to giant squid videos. When Aza sees a ship in the sky, she thinks she is hallucinating. Jason researches and finds out about Magonia, a city […]

Twins Ava and Lexi made up their sister Alicia as a scapegoat when they were children. As young adults, they use the Alicia identity to go on dates. When one of Alicia’s dates ends up dead, the alternate identity starts to take on a life of its own. Lexi starts to wonder if her own twin is a murderer, because Alicia isn’t real…is she? “God, everywhere but here, people dye their hair right out in the open, and nobody cares…”

May 15, 2015 by Caitycat Leave a Comment

In a world where red heads have become scarce, a town called Scarletville treats redheads with extreme preference and all other hair colors like dirt. Felicity is one of the most popular redheads, nominated for the Miss Scarlet pageant that will save her family from ruin (Because her mom spent all their money to make her Miss Scarlet). She also has a secret: she really has STRAWBERRY BLONDE hair! Felicity has her hair dyed at the illegal underground hair salon. The owner’s daughter ends up […]

“Whether Nick wanted to be or not, he was the sun, and everyone revolved around him…”

I love GFY and I am a fan of William and Kate, so this book was right up my alley. It’s cute and romantic and fun, probably more fun than the Spoiled books because I can pretend to be an adult while reading it. You can read my full review here.

One day, I woke up to an email saying that I was invited to join the street team for Bones & All, and that an ARC and “swag bag” were already on the way. Since books are one of my favorite things ever, I was pretty stoked. I was slightly disappointed that the “swag bag” was just a tote with the book’s cover on it, but it’s cool enough (Though mine is covered in cat hair because my big orange cat decided that the tote […]
