Big reader, paltry reviewer, frequent commenter. Wrote a book and am pretty proud of it. (Learn more about this Cannonballer: Alexis's Quick Questions interview.)

Officially Tossed From the Fan Club

Sweep in Peace is the second installment of the Innkeeper Chronicles, a series from the beloved writing pair known as Ilona Andrews. Dina is an innkeeper living with and caring for her Inn (the semi-sentient Gertrude Hunt) in rural Texas, as three diverse groups of magical warrior species converge on the Inn to host a deadly peace negotiation. The story is a unique blend of urban fantasy, magic, and science fiction with all the elements fans of Ilona Andrews have come to expect: unique world-building, […]

Thank You Bunnybean!

December 17, 2015 by Alexis 6 Comments

Bunnybean is a lovely and generous Cannonballer and I am loving my Christmas books! I’m 80% through with A Notorious Countess Confesses and it’s a perfect reprieve from holiday stress and the persistent rain that’s been harshing our Christmas buzz. Eve was a courtesan, and is now a widowed Countess who moves to Pennyroyal Green. The local Vicar, Adam, is a self-contained man of such striking appearance that all of the local women fairly swoon when he appears. They have good smolder and the supporting […]

Flirting with Greatness or Simply Great Flirting?

May 12, 2015 by Alexis 9 Comments

Thorn Dautry was neither sleek nor self-satisfied. Even when he seemed relaxed, he was alert to possible danger, and with good reason: he’d spent his formative years warding off death. As an adult, he’d become a man who controlled his world and everything and everyone in it, and he didn’t bother to pretend he didn’t know the reason. Having made a fortune, Thorn Dautry, the powerful bastard son of a duke, decides that he needs a wife and has set his sights on Laetitia “Lala” […]

Lots of Style, Shaky Substance

February 17, 2015 by Alexis 2 Comments

Evie is a small town girl at the hight of the roaring 20s and she is pos-i-tute-ly going to be a big deal someday. When she’s whisked off to go live with her uncle in New York City it’s just the thing for a modern girl wearing just the cutest cloche hat. Only Evie’s not just another flapper looking for a cute fella with access to giggle juice. She has the power to see into personal history by touching a personal item. And her power […]

Holy Crap Guys, These are Great!

January 15, 2015 by Alexis 13 Comments

I received Red Rising from Scootsa1000 (THANKS!!!) and ordered the sequel, Golden Son before I was even finished the first book. These books are bloodydamn great and you should buy them both immediately. I don’t have the words to do them justice and I’m afraid my fumbling attempt might mistakenly convince you that, “Eh, it sounds like other YA dystopian books, been there done that. No thanks.” This would be a mistake. Red Rising is the story of Darrow, who is a miner deep in […]
