Do you know anything about physics? Well, if you are a more serious provider of this particular knowledge, you might not want to read Physics for Cats by Tom Gauld because there is not a lot of seriousness going on. Then again, maybe you need a bit of humor to get you through the bumps, bruises and teenage robots of your chosen field.

And Gauld covers a lot of ground with one or two panels with words of wisdom and images of chuckles. Think of your favorite more edgy comedian or comedic artist and you have Gauld. There is an off beat sense of ideas to give you laughter and the quirky illustrations are not necessarily comforting or cozy. They have an odd and simpler, but still sharp, edge to them.
Subjects range from how famous scientists wonder what it is all about, how experiments don’t work, but scientists know how to fudge it, how the world around us works (or doesn’t) and so much more. You might not get all the punchlines, but there is something for everyone.
Due in October 2025 you can get copies for friends and family and of course yourself to sit around and read while you hand out candy that month, use as a coaster in fall and then in the winter months read by the light of candles and bulbs other titles you got as gifts as this sits on your coffee table for a guest to enjoy it too.
