I know this is really short, but I loved it. It showed nothing but heart and I loved getting a human’s perspective of our Murderbot.
“Home” takes place after “Exit Strategy” and before “Fugitive Telemetry”. I suggest reading both of those and coming back to this since it makes more sense to me I think doing that since you need “Exit Strategy” to understand what is going on with some of the characters, and it leads in nicely to what goes on in “Fugitive Telemetry.”
We follow Dr. Mensah after she is back with her friends and Murderbot dealing with the Preservation Alliance. We know that Dr. Mensah was kidnapped by GrayCris and that Murderbot ended up rescuing her from the bad guys. Rightfully so, Dr. Mensah has PTSD from her kidnapping and she is trying to do what she can to protect Murderbot (she refuses to use that name) and we get into her initial tangles with the security personnel. What I love is that our Murderbot know what is going on and they are going to do what they can to always protect their human. I love that we get to see another side to Murderbot and Dr. Mensah in this one.
