Hope everybody is enjoying their summer reading. I have been reading a ton this summer. Here are a few of my recent favorite reads:
- Limelight by Amy Poeppel – a funny, very NYC story about a mom who ends up as a personal assistant to a bratty teen idol who is making his Broadway debut.
- Mona Acts Out by Mischa Berlinski – another comedic NYC story, this one about an aging Shakespearean actress.
- Julie Chan Is Dead by Liann Zhang – this book was crazy, especially, when it went completely off the rails about halfway through (just realizing this was another book that mostly takes place in NYC).
- Dark Matter by Blake Crouch – a cool Sci Fi tale that takes place in the multiverse (not in NYC).
- Good Dirt by Charmaine Wilkerson – a moving story of a family shattered by a tragic crime and the family heirloom that connects their past and future.
The biggest excitement of the summer is that I finally got off the library waitlist and have the new V.E. Schwab book in my possession!
I am once again participating in my local library’s summer reading program themed Level Up. For which I got to write my annual summer reading poem:
