Oh man. This was so so freaking good. I think I enjoyed it so much because I live near DC and have traveled to New Orleans. Thien-Kim Lam captures both cities and the culture very well. She also wrote a very kick-ass hot romance with two leads that I was fully invested in almost as soon as I turned the page.
“Full Exposure” follows Josie Parks (a boudoir photographer) who is in New Orleans for a wedding. When the two brides call it off, Josie decides to stay since she’s dealing with stress and burnout. Having fun during a parade causes her to knock into Spencer Pham leaving him with a huge bruise. Spencer though is happy to have been hit by Josie since he finds her the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. They have the funnies post meet-cute ever, with both of them noting they won’t probably see each other again. But….that would make for a short book.
Ahh Josie. I loved her and I did love her lists and her love of notebooks and a good pen. It was great to see how happy she was while in New Orleans and getting to know Spencer and his family more. You really want the two of them to work out, though you know they both have plenty of things standing in their way.
The love scenes we get are super hot and I loved them and wanted more.
The friends we meet in this one (or some of you have met, this is a story that follows prior characters) and the Pham family and friends was great. I am still honestly baffled that I have not known much about Vietnamese family’s settling in the South, but I loved everything we got about it in this one without it coming across like a history lecture.
The setting of New Orleans and D.C. were well done and I miss New Orleans. Especially the food. This whole book had me craving all kinds of things while reading it.
I loved how it wrapped up and the HEA we get.
