While there are mostly uplifting and positive quotations fill Inspiring Quotes from Children’s Classics: For Growing Up, there are one or two silly or maybe a bit not so “uplifting” ones that will make you chuckle. From classic quotes (Moby Dick) to contemporary reads (Princess Academy), there is a little bit of everything included. Therefore you can find Moomins and Christopher Paolini next to CS Lewis and Ramona the Pest. Sometimes, the phrase is not necessarily something I would consider “inspirational” or even has a “message” to them, but they are nice comments and/or lines from the collections they come from. There is a “nice sound” to them when reading in my head. The actual quotes are broken up into categories (such as courage, kindness, and self-confidence,), but (for me) that was not needed. I just read and enjoyed everything.

Edited by Hannah Barnaby and illustrated by Ruth Burrows, this is not necessarily a read cover to cover book, but you could (I tried too, but my lunch was too short). There are lovely, sweet colorful images throughout. They are simple but not simplistic. They can be busy but not overwhelming. They felt like a hard candy that is sweet, but not overly sweet and maybe has a juicy or softer center. 
In November 2025, when it arrives in the world as fully published (I read via an online reader) I might (and probably will) find a finished copy to see how the final format is. As it is online, the size did not come through. I am assuming it will be for all ages and a “stocking stuffer” size, but look forward to finding out.
