Hello Dads and Little Kids. I have two joke books for you. First, How to Make a Turkey Laugh by Chris Cate and second, Spooky Silly Halloween Jokes also by Chris Cate. If you know a dad joke, you are ahead of the game. If you need to learn dad jokes, you came to the right place. Both of these books are due late summer 2025, and therefore, ready for the holiday season. You can eat your ‘taters and find out why the turkey shouldn’t be near the deserts. And you can show your dead-acation, like zombies do while getting all the candy on Halloween. Everything is punny and some are even funny… I mean all are funny, but I mean really really funny, like make Moms and other Grown Ups laugh out loud for reals!

The illustrations are bold, and big. The colors are brassy and popping. They fit the overall color schemes of what we think of when we think of these two holidays, Halloween and Thanksgiving, but they are also “any time” colors. While the older kids could read (first grade on up), the format might feel young to them. And the younger kids will get a kick out of reading them with you, and then telling them to every stranger you meet while grocery shopping.
The Halloween book has more jokes per page, but that does not mean that Thanksgiving is lacking. Both have their fair share of helping you get the giggles. You can also get your laughs in with How to Make a Ninja Laugh, How to Make an Astronaut Laugh, How to Make a Penguin Laugh, and How to Make a Unicorn Laugh that are currently available, but I have not read. What I have read are How to Make a Robot Laugh and How to Make a Shark Laugh and I’m looking forward to finding a copy of Ho-Ho-Ho-Larious Christmas Jokes and How to Make a Lion Laugh.
