Daisy and Wild-Eye are back and getting into trouble once more! Now a few months after the events of Dragon Kings of Oklahoma, baby dragon Ace is tired of being hidden away and is clamoring to live in town. Which is a bad idea, because Ace isn’t even supposed to be in Oklahoma, but rather back in Germany where she’s a protected species. Meanwhile, Daisy’s Druid mother has swept back into town and is demanding that Daisy come with her to fully train as a Druid. Fae Lords of Oklahoma opens with Daisy and Wild-Eye hunting in the woods outside of Douay, when they suddenly stumble into a mysterious other world, shadow woods created by the Fae. They get separated, and Daisy is moments away from taking the Fae up on their offer of healing when his mother swoops in to rescue him from their mind control.
Wild-Eye is not so lucky – he is fully ensnared by the Fae enchantments, and is determined to spread that magical infection throughout Douay. As more of the town falls under the Fae’s spell, Daisy and his mother find themselves teaming up with Dusty (Daisy’s drug-dealer boss and a vicious werewolf to boot) to try to save the town and drive out the Fae once and for all.
Fae Lords of Oklahoma is a fun and wild ride, but also manages to be deeply unsettling and scary. The consequences to those who go against the Fae are dire – Daisy’s girlfriend is hospitalized with a severe case of plants trying to grow out of her body – and everyone who falls under the Fae’s spell is determined to protect them at all costs, even to the death. As the threats mount and the infection spreads, even Ace comes under attack, and Daisy will be forced to make a choice – his lifelong best friend, or his dragon?
