CBR 16 Bingo – Dun dun: It’s the last book of the series, so there’s the suspense of the ending that has been building up through the past books. There was also anticipation before the book, and some of it came as a surprise.
I was really excited before reading the final book of this series, and it did not disappoint. By this book, not only was Avery’s fortune on the line, but also her life. Yet, as it becomes clear, there is one last puzzle to solve.
I found this book completely unexpected. there were a few directions I thought the plot could go in, and this was not one of them. Similar to the past 2 books in the series, the puzzles were fenomenal, and there was so much that was unexpected. The plot was a little out there at times, but it was still enjoyable. I felt like the mystery in this book in particular was more mysterious and in-depth and the puzzles were more puzzling than in the last 2 books, which I really enjoyed.
I also liked how the plot came full circle and how it ended in such a satisfying way. This was a great finale to a great series and, although the 1st book was still the best, this one comes in second.
I’ll leave you with what is arguably the best quote of any book I’ve read this year: “Hit me with all those thinky thoughts.”
Honestly, if there is a quote that spectacular you know the book is going to be great.
Seriously though, this was a great book and a great series. Strongly recommend. 4.5 stars.
