Piper, a book loving chipmunk and I have a lot in common. We are both book lovers. We have cute, chubby cheeks, we’re not keen on sharing our books, and we both love books. Did I mention that already? Well it is true. And in fact, I’m a book dragon. Well, you might call it hoarding, but I call it dragon. And I would say that Piper is a dragon, too. Only I don’t go as extreme as she does. You see, Piper loves her books so much that not only will she not share them with others, she takes them everywhere she goes. And as she grows, of course her collection grows, too. And it grows to the point where it actually is not easy to travel with them anymore. She has her bike filled, a wagon filled and every nook she can find filled. And it all comes crashing down one rainy day.
Hayley Rocco and John Rocco tell us how two things are possible in All the Books. First, you can have all the books you could possibly want and second, you can share with others while still having all the books. You see, there is a little thing called The Library. And all the books belong to you/Piper, but they belong to the other patrons, too. It only works if we share. This is a sweet and funny idea that is supported by equally cute and funny illustrations. I am not loving them, but they do set the tone and work well for the overall story. They give a family friendly, old school look to things. It makes everything cozy and bold.
When the book arrives in October of 2024 I am thinking I will get physical copies (as I read via an online reader) for gifts.
