Never mess with the housekeepers; they know where all the bodies are buried.

Mrs. King has just been let go from her position as head housekeeper at the extravagant Park Lane estate. Everything is going according to plan. The master of the house has recently passed and his daughter is determined to throw an audacious and slightly inappropriate costume ball. That’s the night that Mrs. King is going to rob Park Lane of every elegant possession. She and her group of carefully chosen accomplices are going to show the upstairs just what the women downstairs are capable of. Revenge is a dish best served cold and this circle of women have been waiting a very long time.
It’s impossible to read this book without assigning an Ocean’s Eight character to each of the women- the Sandra Bullock, the Cate Blanchett, the Anne Hathaway. I found that very amusing and it made it a bit easier to keep track of the somewhat large cast. The Janes were my favorites, just calmly engineering all over the place. I would take a book just about their future adventures in invention. Overall this was a fun little turn of the century heist novel that ends exactly as it should for everyone involved in a very satisfying way.
