Ah, the creator Andrew Shaffer! The person I love to hate and hate to love! Yet, he keeps (pounding fists on my desk) DRAGS ME BACK! Time and time again! I am thinking, “OH Master has given Dobby clothes!” But oh no! Dobby has been fooled and I am right back reading another mad capped work by them!
Okay, seriously, I really did not realize how prolific Shaffer is. Oh My Goth: Jokes for When You Feel Dead Inside is a small collection (read online though it is available) that includes things that make you scratch your head. If you have one. And they might make you wonder, “How did that one get past the sensors?” Everything is adult humor for the goth in us all. Or for the Goth who has become a dad, since some (many) of the inside information that we are given is really really Basic Bad Dad Jokes/Humor/Offness 101. Sure there is some terribly mature content, really offbeat content and concepts, but it is not necessarily really dirty.
Oh, don’t assume that it is clean! Nope buddy, it ain’t clean by a loooong shot! But it is not “Nasty Dan Dirty” (usually). This book is for someone who does not mind maybe more than a few not so PC “jokes.” Some might be borderline in good taste, but when the ghost knocks on the door and the Goth says “Nice tan” you know there are some funny things. But then again, there is this: Normal person: “Why do you have a stuffed toy bat head on your wall?” Goth: “Your head didn’t fit.”
