30 Books in 30 Days, Vol. 4
Book 3/30
Well, I slept on this one overnight and I’m glad I did. Sometimes the things that stay with you about a book are the bothersome bits, the annoyances, making the reading experience sour in your memory, and sometimes what floats to the top are the moments of cute banter and cuddling, and just overall positive feelings. The latter is the case here, so while I thought this was a bit wobbly in parts and found the MC baffling on occasion, I think I would read this again a ways down the road, so it’s gotta be rounded up to four.
This book follows Tara, a BookToker* who has been plagued by men who find her “too much,” call her a “stage five clinger,” and she is always the dumpee, never the dumper. She is a lady who holds nothing back, and loves fiercely and quickly. When her sister becomes engaged and moves in her with her fiance, Tara moves in with his old roommate, Trevor, who is extremely good looking but doesn’t want a relationship, instead preferring unending sequences of one-night stands. (Of course you see where this is going.) A conversation with her grandmother sparks Tara to embark on the project of tracking down the exes she might want to give a second chance to, and because she’s herself, Trevor almost immediately starts helping her, as backup, or as advice giver on how to text. Of course, they fall in love.
*Though her account seems weird and I can’t imagine, from what we see of it, why anyone would want to follow her.**

I really liked watching Trevor and Tara fall in love. We get it firsthand from Tara, of course, but it was also really fun to watch the signs that Tara missed as Trevor fell in love with her. The conversations they have are really cute, and you can just see him appreciating her for exactly who she is, loving the things other men have dumped her for or openly criticized her about.
I’m not interested in the other books in this series, but I would definitely read from this author again.
