This was a solid 3 star romance. Would have been 3.5 except for the epilogue. You’ll know what I mean when you get to it.
Anyhow, Cara Kennedy and Finn Maguire meet on Cara’s whirlwind trip to Dublin, and on her final night – after far too much whiskey – Cara decides to partake in the Irish tradition of women proposing on Leap Day. The next morning Cara wakes up with a hangover and a husband. With a flight to catch and no additional vacation time to stay in Dublin and sort this out, Cara asks Finn to come back to LA with her and they can figure out their annulment/divorce there. Of course, the more they get to know each other the more they wonder whether a divorce is really the way to go.
This is a cute romance, but some of the characters felt underdeveloped, and the antagonist didn’t seem to have proper motivation for their worst transgressions. And, as I said, the epilogue was eye-rollingly bad. Worth a read, as long as your expectations are tempered. (For those whom spice level is important, this is like, a 1 on the scale.)
