I was scrolling through the library website, looking for an available book that sounded good, because all the books on my TBR that I wanted to read then weren’t available. I came across this book, read the description, thought it would either be interesting or not very well done, but decided to give it a try.
In 27 Days is about a girl named Hadley, who goes to the same school as Archer, a boy she barely knows. One day, Archer commited suicide and Hadley attended his funeral, where she met Death and made a deal with him that he would put her 27 days back in time so she could stop Archer from commiting suicide. Over the course of the 27 days, she befriends Archer and his family, but she struggles to do so due to Archer’s mistrust in her and other people, causing him to isolate himself. However, over the course of these 27 days, there are forces that are trying to stop Hadley’s intervention into Archer’s fate.
This book wasn’t my favorite, but it was pretty good. The plot was fairly interesting and I found it to be fairly well written, but I feel that more could have been done with the plot to make it more interesting. Also, I think that the romance between Archer and Hadley was unnecessary and frankly made it worse because I found it to be a predictable trope. Overall, I wouldn’t reread it but I would recommend it if someone is looking for a sad book that is easy to read and understand.
