This year I said to myself, “We are going to do some fun books this year.” and Myself replied, “Sounds like a great idea, Me!” And so I did. Sticker Jigsaw: Pride and Prejudice was a fun book. It is a very abridged Pride and Prejudice with stickers. It is an activity book that has a few pages of highlights for the story and then you get to put stickers on the pages. Now this could work for an older adult who needs a little “fun time” or maybe is having memory issues, so keeping them active is a good idea. Or for fans of the book and/or the author. It can also work for a child as a way to introduce them to the classic novel, especially if they are not ready for the adult version.
Or so I assume. You see I read this book that is due in May 2024 via an online reader copy. Still, I think it would be a lovely book. I liked the story part. It read as a more mature “board book” of classics (there was a series that would use the classics of Austin, Stoker, even Poe to count, colors, etc). In July you can find Sticker Jigsaw: The Edgar Allan Poe Collection and in October Sticker Jigsaw: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Each one is by a different illustrator, but their main authors Jane Austin, Edgar Allen Poe, and L. Frank Baum are credited as well as Odd Dot. Joy Laforme is the illustrator that adapts Austin for the activity book.
Odd Dot has other sticker books as well as activity books and what seem to be stories that have educational twists to them.
