That One Night:
Rachel Price is a doctor who has just been rejected for a prestigious fellowship. She is in Seattle for her twin brother’s wedding. A handsome stranger rescues her from a douchebag’s unwanted advances, and she feels an instant connection with him. Jake Compton is a Hockey player who is in Seattle to meet with his twin sister, who was unable to make the trip. When he rescues Rachel, sparks immediately fly, and she propositions him to come to her room, just for the night. She refuses to let them exchange names or any identifying information, saying that she wants him to be her “mystery boy”. He calls her “Seattle Girl”. They have a night of mindblowing sex, and Jake wants to commit to Rachel right away. Instead, she sneaks out while he is asleep, leaving only a note and a vial of her perfume behind.
Pucking Around:
Rachel is back home in Cincinnati when she gets the call that she did indeed get that prestigious fellowship and she has to move to Jacksonville, Florida in two days! She will be working with the brand-new Jacksonville Rays hockey team. She is picked up at the airport by the hot equipment manager, Caleb Sanford, and she feels an instant connection with him. On her first day on the job, she runs into her “mystery boy”, Jake, and he doesn’t immediately recognize her! Then she finds out that Jake and Caleb are best friends. She tries to stay strictly professional with them, but eventually, the three of them start a secret relationship. Rachel also has a weird connection with the Finnish Goalie, Illmari “Mars” Kinnunen. Eventually, all four end up in a poly relationship. Then Jake and Caleb realize they love each other, so the book is MMFM. As if this all wasn’t complicated enough, Rachel is the daughter of a Rock n’ Roll legend, so any of this can end up all over the tabloids and end all of their careers!
Pucking Ever After, Vol. 1:
This is a series of short stories set during and after Pucking Around. Jake demonstrates his secret superpower to predict the perfect Ice Cream flavor for anyone. The Fearsome Foursome decides who is whose emergency contact. Rachel has sexy times on an airplane ride with Illmari. Jake and Caleb get sexy in the Price Family Supply Closet. The Price kids cause rampant chaos. Illmari celebrates his Birthday in an IKEA.
I have read everything Emily Rath has written, and this series is her best yet! I love all of the characters. They feel so real. I can’t wait to read more stories written in this world, and I won’t have to wait long because I’m on her ARC team for the next book that comes out at the end of this month!
CBR15 Bingo – Queer Lives. A large portion of Pucking Around involves one character coming to terms with the fact that he is in love with his best friend and he is bisexual.
