Some people have a bad habit called Book Collecting. I have a bad habit and a dealer from Barefoot Books. They keep me in fun books like Whatever Comes Tomorrow. Rebecca Gardyn Levington is the author of this book I have added to my piles of reading material. And the illustrations are done by Mariona Cabassa (whom I will be finding other works by).
And this book is a simple book but has a lot of fun things going on. It is a book about “tomorrow” and the promises it brings, but also if something not so good happens, that you are strong enough to keep on keeping on. It is good for most ages, but at least five and up works probably the best. Text rhymes and illustrations shine with lots of meanings and colors and details.
This diverse cast of characters would not translate to an audio reading, but I felt if you had the right reader, it would be a fun book to listen too (and usually do not think of audio as a format). Of course, I have not seen an audio version attached (hint hint Barefoot) but the book itself is a delightful solo treat. I would say this is best for a one-on-one reading time, but if you had the hardcover version (the paper is also simultaneously out as well), you could do it for a group reading, though a smaller or classroom sized group. Also available in a Spanish edition, this picture book is a great gift for most occasions or for your own library.
