Now, before we get into this, I do not hate love. I actually love love, but this book had me cheering for certain love to fail. This was unusual for me, since usually I’m watching people fall in love who I think are well suited. (I also know that it’s not my job to be matchmaker or to judge others’ love but it’s FICTION PEOPLE). This was super cheesy and totally predictable, but sometimes I need that kind of book in my life.
This book starts out with a dramatic “at first sight” love, which I’m not sure actually happens, but I was sucked into it regardless. SPOILER: The main character is obsessed with this first sight for years and finally gives up looking for him only to find out that he’s begun to date her roommate. There is a constant struggle the rest of the book because you know that he’s with the wrong person, but won’t admit it! How frustrating. But, alas, it kept me hooked and I had to know what was going to happen.
The character development was so fun in this book, I felt like I knew them at the end. I had vivid pictures of them in my head and knew their personalities. Josie Silver did an amazing job of giving just the right amount of details without boring me with too many. I was happy at the end though, when everyone seemed to find their true happy, even if it was a frustrating road to get there. But, let’s be honest, that’s how life goes right?
