The new reader copies are coming in and Fall 2021, Winter 2022 and Spring 2022 are looking good. Two of them are below. Or the adult reader they were a lunch time read, for the age aimed at, you can take your time reading a few pages at a
time.
Crab and Snail: The Invisible Whale is due Spring 2022. Author Beth Ferry and illustrator Jared Chapamn have created a book that is a fun story about the ocean and about friends and friendship. However, while the invisible whale concept was not as fleshed out as I had hoped, this book is going to be a hit with your beginning reader. Early readers will still need help, but your first and second graders will get a kick out of Snail and Crab. These two (slightly clueless, but well-meaning) animals silly adventure will have you laughing and wondering where you can find your own invisible whale friend.
A few days after finishing Crab and Snail I picked up another Spring 2022 reader copy. Sir Ladybug is a funny story about friendship, cake, thinking things out, bravery and cake by Corey R. Tabor. When Sir Ladybug has their latest quest find them, it is an adventure that will take all their skills, the skills of their friends, and the best darn cake ever! Bad jokes, naughty birds (just trying to get a bite to eat) and great cake will have your child (and you) laughing, cheering, and learning the real meaning of bravery. Best for at least 8-year-olds and up.
Both graphic novel/novels with illustrations are a fun way to add a little fun and quirkiness to your reading.
