What a fun time. I’m going to be three for three on this series for writing inadequate reviews for how much I enjoyed them. I have not yet been satisfied by anything I have written about Talia Hibbert’s books. It escapes me how to write about them.
I will say, for the first half of this book (an excellent example of the hate to love trope), this was shaping up to be my favorite of the three books. The enmity between Jacob and Eve was so good, and they were so baffled by each other, and each so separately lovely and good at different things. I also loved the way that Eve just bungled her way into this wonderful dream job, and the atmosphere of the B&B.
Then they acknowledged they were attracted to each other, and it got a little bit less fun for some reason. I guess I was just really in the mood for loveable characters antagonizing each other (and swans and ducks, and other water fowl) and when that stopped I got sad. Eve’s family continues to be so lovable. I also loved Jacob’s family and friends, and I believe I heard that Tessa and the other two siblings will be getting their own series. (I NEED Tessa to get her own book. I *need* it.)
The audiobook, which shares a narrator with #2, was also excellent.
