We the People and the President: An Infographic Look at the American Presidency is an interesting book. I only had a sample of what the final will be of PJ Creek and Jamie Creek’s creation, but it was packed with goodies. This is a non-fiction book and partly because the sample I had was online, it was not easy to read. The other part is there is a log of information to process.
Diagrams, graphs, text and more filled this (assuming picture book sized, but the publisher description called it a “graphic book”) aged 8 and up book. The history of America, the presidents, our economy and so much more are shown. Tons of illustrations and images show you not only things like President one was Washington and President 46 is Biden, but all that means. We see their confidence/popularity numbers. History about how things are how they are and more. It seems to have it all and then some.
Some of the illustrations seemed to be muted in color and sometimes a bit overly busy, but I think a solid book would have helped me personally as I like to “hold my books” and not “see them on a screen.”
Despite any issues I had, I think this is going to be one of my favorite non-fiction books as it is different. I do not think I have seen anything that covers as much information as it does. And most of that information I do not think I have seen anyplace else. I think any kid who likes history, presidents or fun facts could really get into it. It would be great for the classroom setting.
